Robbin Newman, Esq. is a recent addition to ATD's panel of mediators, joining at a time when Florida's economic climate begs for mediators with Robbin's financial institution background and negotiation expertise.
Ms. Newman is a former partner of Holland & Knight where she focused her practice for over 26 years in the areas of commercial real estate and finance, and served as co-chair of the law firm's National Real Estate Finance Team. Robbin has had extensive experience in the representation of institutional lenders in large, complex mortgage loan transactions, as well as real estate owners and developers, in the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of commercial projects. She has also worked closely with litigation attorneys in connection with the negotiation and documentation of foreclosure actions, as well as loan workout transactions. As an agent signatory for several national title insurance companies, Robbin also has significant experience in title examination, analysis of potential title claim issues, and resolution of disputed title issues. Robbin brings her legal career of negotiation, advocacy and analytical skills to mediation with the goal of actively engaging the parties involved in complex business disputes to successfully resolve their differences.
In addition to being a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit-Civil mediator, Robbin completed the American Arbitration Association Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation Training Program, and is certified to mediate residential foreclosures. Robbin is an AV rated attorney who has been practicing law in the State of Florida since 1984. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in 1981, and received her Juris Doctor from the Boston University School of Law in 1984. Robbin has authored articles and participated in speaking engagements on a variety of commercial real estate topics. She continues to practice law with her own firm, Newman Law Office, P.L., in the areas of commercial real estate, finance and leasing, and is general counsel to Danburg Management Corporation, based in Boca Raton, Florida.
Robbin's charitable efforts play an important role in her life. She is a high school youth mentor the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship Program. She participates in fundraising for the Diabetes Research Institute and JAFCO, and is a Guardian Angel for the Holtz Children's Hospital at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial MedicalCenter.
