Laura Bonn, Esq. completed a twenty three year career as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida in 2007.  As a Senior Attorney in the Civil Division, Laura handled both affirmative and defensive litigation including numerous cases in the areas of employment and disabilities discrimination, personal injury, medical malpractice, Federal Tort Claims Act, constitutional tort claims, immigration and social security. Laura represented both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous mediations with cases in both the trial and appellate courts. After participating on both sides in many mediations, she finds it natural to be the person in the middle, actively moving disputes toward resolution.

Laura was voted by former and present Assistant United States Attorneys as the outstanding career prosecutor in 2005 (Vince Antel Award). Earlier in her career she was the founding member of both the health care fraud and bank fraud working groups. She prosecuted health care fraud, bank fraud, tax and money laundering cases as both a Deputy Chief and a staff attorney in the Criminal Division.

Laura grew up in Miami, Florida, graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in 1972 and received her J.D. in 1976 from Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. where she was a member of the Law Review and a Book Award Recipient. Laura has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1977 and is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Circuit Civil mediator. She currently teaches as an Adjunct Faculty at the the University of Miami School of Law in the Litigation Skills Program.
